You will always see a licensed provider on a real-time video appointment before beginning any treatment, and you will always see an itemized invoice before you pay. All medications require a prescription from your provider, and only if the treatment is appropriate for you based on your goals, medical history, and assessment.

- Continuous improvement: We keep up with current evidence and guidance and update our protocols as it changes.

Compounded and Off-Label Medications

Some medications we prescribe are compounded by licensed pharmacies or used off-label. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved. Your provider will answer any questions that you have about the benefits and risks for any medication.

Compounded medications are prepared by state-licensed pharmacies for an individual patient based on a prescription, and, where applicable, by FDA-registered outsourcing facilities. Compounded medications are not reviewed by the FDA for safety, effectiveness, or quality before they are dispensed. We prescribe a compounded medication only when your clinician determines it is appropriate for your individual needs.

When Compounding May Be Appropriate

Compounding creates a medication tailored to an individual patient. Licensed pharmacists prepare these medications from a prescription. Your provider may consider a compounded medication when, for example:

- A commercially available, FDA-approved medication does not meet your specific clinical needs (for example, you need a dose or dosage form that is not commercially available);

- You have an allergy or sensitivity to an ingredient in the commercially available product; or

- Another patient-specific clinical reason is documented by your provider and compounding is permitted by law.

Compounded medications do not go through the same FDA review as FDA-approved medications. Always talk with your provider before starting any treatment.

Compounded Tirzepatide and Semaglutide

Compounded tirzepatide and compounded semaglutide are not FDA-approved and are not the same as the FDA-approved brand-name products. When our provider prescribes a compounded version, it is because the provider has determined and documented a patient-specific clinical need that the FDA-approved product does not meet for you. If an FDA-approved product is appropriate for you, your provider will discuss that option. Your provider will review the benefits, risks, side effects, and alternatives with you before you start, and will monitor you while you take it.

Our Pharmacies

Prescriptions are filled by licensed pharmacies we work with and shipped to your residential address. Before we work with a pharmacy, we confirm that it is licensed for the medications it prepares and that it ships legally to the state where you are located. Compounding pharmacies are required to follow applicable United States Pharmacopeia (USP) standards and federal and state pharmacy law. You may ask us at any time which pharmacy is filling your prescription and about its licensure.
